The 1 Page You Must Add To Your Website

When I started my health coaching business, back in 2006, I was excited to launch my website. It made me feel “legit” – and it was fun putting that URL on my business cards!
But after that initial excitement passed, I started to wonder… Was my website making (or costing) me money?
My first website certainly helped me get credibility with potential partners and clients. But, it could have been MUCH more effective at bringing in more clients.
If only I knew then what I know now!
Today, I’m going to share the ONE page you probably don’t have, that will transform your website from expensive “business card” to revenue-generating machine.
I’m also sharing EXACTLY what to put on the page (and in what order).
Before we dive into this, I want you to think about your primary goals for your website. While this may vary depending on where you’re at in your business, for most coaches your primary goals are:
Growing your list.
Getting website visitors to become paying clients
or customers.
Today, we’re focusing on Goal #2, and I’m going to share how to get people to schedule an initial consultation with you – right off your website.
You can do this through what I call the “start here” page.
The start here page is a great way to get people to take the FIRST step with you. I love the start here page because it’s so simple and obvious. If you landed on a website and it said “start here,” wouldn’t you feel guided and compelled to click on it?
What you want that first step to be will vary depending on your business.
For many of you, that first step is an initial consultation.
Note: If you don’t want to enroll more 1:1 clients, the first step might be having them opt-in for a free gift, signing up for an online program, or purchasing an introductory information product that you sell that.
You can use the start here page for whatever makes sense for you and your business, but today I’m going to show you how you can use a “start here” page to get more potential clients to schedule initial consultations with you…
Simple & effective structure for your “start here” page.
Start by connecting with your ideal clients and what they’re struggling with.
Speak to the pain they’re experiencing and their goals. This will let them know that you “get them” and they’ll feel they’re in the right place.
Then, share that there is a solution and that you can help.
This is where you can highlight the areas in which you support clients.
Next, invite them into an initial consultation.
You might call this a strategy session, breakthrough session, or get-acquainted session. Share what they will get out of the session. (Don’t oversell it, but let them know what to expect and share the value of the call – even if it’s a free call.)
Include a prominent button where they can click to schedule the consultation.
This button can say “Schedule a FREE Nutrition Strategy Session.” Have the button link to an online calendar where potential clients can schedule the call. (I use TimeTrade for my online calendar, but there are loads of inexpensive online scheduling systems that you can sign-up for. I HIGHLY recommend you link to an online calendar because it not only saves you from emailing back and forth with people, but I find that people are more likely to take immediate action when they can pick a time and date right then and there!)
By using this structure, you’re actually coaching them. You’re making it clear
what their first step should be, and then you’re guiding and motivating them
to take this first step.
Now I’d love to hear from you!
You can easily put this into place in the next week. Don’t overthink it! Post a link to your new “start here” page below. As always, post any questions you have below so I can support you.
