#24: How to Coach Like a Pro

Listen on:

Back in the day, I remember feeling lost with many of my health coaching clients.

I would give my clients (what I thought were) the perfect list of action steps to implement before our next session.

Many times they often would come back without taking action.

I was puzzled…

They had signed up and paid for coaching, so clearly they wanted to make a change.

Why weren’t they following the amazing plans I had mapped out for them?

What I now know is that while I was great at coming up with action steps and giving handouts and recipes… I didn’t understand how to support my clients in making behavioral change.

I didn’t know that there was a process I could learn and follow.

Your coaching can be a whole lot easier and more effective when you learn this process. That’s why I’m thrilled that Michelle MacLean, Skills Mentor for Health Coaches, joined me for this podcast episode How to Coach Like a Pro.
