Is Blogging Worth Your Time?
If you do it right, one of the best ways to drive traffic to your website if to have a blog that you post to at least once a week.
(I hear your sighs and see the eye rolls, but stick with me.)
I know that you’ve likely heard that you should have a blog, but it may feel like yet another thing you don’t have time for in your business. To help encourage you to implement this strategy, let me first explain WHY you should carve out time for this.
Here are 2 reasons why you should have a blog.
1. The search engines love sites that have new content posted regularly, and your site will get ranked higher if you implement this strategy.
2. Each blog post allows you an opportunity to use a different set of keywords, therefore driving more traffic to your site.
There’s a catch.
You don’t want to just blog about anything. You want to be thoughtful about what you blog about.
If you are writing about things your ideal clients care about, then your blog will not only be driving traffic to your site. It will be driving TARGETED traffic to your site. This means that the people who are finding you want the information you have to share. They are likely to explore your site, opt-in to your list, and be interested in what you have to offer.
Want to have a blog that helps you drive traffic and build a list of ideal clients?
Before writing your blog, think like your ideal clients. What do they care about? What are they searching for on Google?
A simple way to come up with hot topics for your blog is to make notes after your sessions with clients or after giving a talk or workshop. What questions did you get asked? Keep a running list and then you’ll always have fresh ideas that are relevant to your audience.
Worried about keeping up with writing a newsletter and a blog? Your blog posts can also function as the content in your newsletter or ezine. Nice, right?
To your success,
