Want to know the best ways to market your business online?

In this video, I’m diving into my favorite online marketing strategies for health coaches…especially those who are just starting in the online space.

7 Best Ways to Market Your Health Coaching Business Online

I recommend choosing one or two strategies so you can get really good at them. When you give yourself the time and space to focus on a small number of marketing tactics, you’ll actually get better results by doing LESS marketing.

1. Facebook Live

Live streaming through Facebook Live is a great way to reach a lot of people with your message at once.

Like speaking or webinars, live video can build a really fast connection with your audience. (This also works on Instagram Live.)

To make the most of your Facebook Live events, create an outline for yourself beforehand so that you have a plan of what you’ll talk about.

If people don’t show up for your live event, don’t be discouraged! The recording will appear on your timeline and, if you’re lucky, in your followers’ news feeds.

2. Facebook Groups

If your audience is on Facebook, starting a free closed Facebook Group is a great way to build a community.

This is a great strategy for you if you want to focus on online marketing and you have time to commit to keeping up with the group.

Having a free Facebook group is a powerful tool because it allows you to create a more intimate space… and it’s a great way to create deeper relationships – because it’s one of the only ways
you can have a back and forth conversation online.

When you’re strategic about what you post inside your group and the kinds of events you run inside your group, you can really set yourself as an expert there.

You’ll want to use some strategy with posts that are known to get seen and known to lead your group members to want to work with you by using a mix of engagement posts, positioning posts, and promotional posts.

3. Promoting through Partners

Partners are people in complementary fields who are a great fit to refer clients to you.

I love this strategy because I’ve seen clients of mine fill their practice with only a few good referral partners.

Partners can refer you to one person at a time. Better yet, they can get you in front of their entire audience. This can be done through joint webinars, guest blog posts, features on their website, emails, Facebook Lives, or social media posts.

Who can you approach to be a referral partner?

  • Yoga or Pilates studio owners
  • Wellness centers
  • Therapists
  • Acupuncturists
  • Personal trainers
  • Bloggers
  • Podcasters

4. Guest Blog posts

A guest blog post is where you write a blog post that gets posted on someone else’s site.

If you enjoy writing, guest blogging is a great strategy for you. I’ve had guest blog posts generate over 100 new subscribers to my list. You can imagine that if you regularly published guest blog posts that you would have a nice flow of new subscribers coming in!

As with most things, there’s a strategy when it comes to writing guest blog posts.

In order for a guest blog post to be effective at building your list, you’ll want to pay attention to a few items:

First, you want to have your posts on sites that attract your ideal clients. For example, if you primarily are targeting moms, you wouldn’t want to have your guest blog post published on a site that mainly targets women in their early 20s.

Second, you want your posts published on sites that get a good amount of traffic. The more people who see your post the better!

Third, you definitely want your guest posts to provide a lot of value – so share your best stuff!

Finally, you want to be sure to share a link to a compelling free gift in the post.

5. Get Booked on Podcasts

Similar to guest blog posts, the goal with being interviewed on podcasts is for you to get in front of a wider audience, share valuable content, and lead people to a landing page where they can opt-in for your free gift.

Present your free gift as something special for listeners. Be sure to “talk it up” and tell them how this is going to help them.

Then share the URL of your landing page so they can access the free gift.

I suggest that you mention the free gift in the middle of the interview and then again at the end. I also recommend that you ask the host if they would be willing to include short plug for your free gift and a link to your landing page in the podcast description or show notes.

6. Webinars

If you know me, then you know that my #1 marketing strategy that gets health coaches new clients is SPEAKING.

Speaking is the fastest, lowest cost way to build your business.

If you’re focusing on marketing your health coaching business online, then webinars are a wonderful strategy for growing your list, creating a connection with your audience quickly, and selling your programs.

7. Facebook Ads

This is an advanced strategy, but can be powerful if you’re ready for it. Here are some questions you can ask yourself to determine if you’re ready for Facebook Ads:

    • Do I have a specialty?
You need to be super clear about who you serve before you start running ads.

    • Do I have a proven program?
This should be something that you know sells well and that you know your target audience wants. You don’t want to use Facebook Ads for a new program.

    • Do I have an automated marketing system in place?
This doesn’t need to be fancy. For example, if you’re running ads to build your list your system may include a landing page where people request your free gift and then receive a series of strategically-written emails that promotes an initial consult with you or a cleanse program.

  • Do you have a dedicated monthly marketing budget?
It can be small, but before you dive into Facebook Ads you want to have a budget you can consistently invest each month.

Developing a strategy before you advertise is key. If you answered YES to the questions above, then you’re ready to run ads.

In the Abundant Health Coach, I teach our clients exactly how to consistently get clients locally and online and bring in 5-10K per month.

No matter which strategies you choose, you want to go in with a plan.

Each time you use one of these tactics determine what you want to achieve. Here are some specific goals to choose from:

  • Brand awareness
  • List building
  • Promoting your free initial consult
  • Promoting a program like a cleanse

When you’re clear on the goal of your marketing, it makes it infinitely easier to market your health coaching business online EFFECTIVELY.
