10 Blogs Every Health Coach Should Follow

As a health coach and solopreneur, there is so much to learn and stay on top of. Online marketing, nutrition, coaching skills, writing…. the list goes on and on
and on.
The good news is that there are many people out there who you can learn from. Finding talented experts and mentors has been critical to my success. Without their guidance and wisdom, I wouldn’t have the business I have today.
So today, I’m rounding up 10 of my favorite blogs that I think every health coach could benefit from reading. They are all experts in their field and share strategies that will help you build your business.
Before you dive in, one word of caution…
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when there’s so much information coming at you.
To avoid this, my approach is to focus on one or two things at a time to learn or improve.
Trying to tackle all of it is exhausting and can even be damaging to your business. Why? Well, if you try to learn every new online business and marketing technique you come across, your marketing will be scattered, and and it won’t work. Plus, you’ll burn yourself out pretty quickly with this tactic.
Blogs Specifically For Health Coaches
These blogs are all written by colleagues of mine that I know and trust. They provide solid information on building up your health coaching business, finding clients, and keeping your clients happy. I love reading their latest ideas on our industry.
Karen Pattock – Karen’s blog is full of short videos that will help you get very targeted with your online marketing. Karen’s tips are super actionable, so set aside a little extra time when reading this one to implement some of her best ideas.
Lori Kennedy – Lori is another brilliant business coach for health entrepreneurs. She created a very successful nutrition practice and now teaches other health coaches and nutritionists what she learned about how to grow a wellness business. Learn about everything from mindset to marketing psychology to copywriting, and how it can help your health coaching business.
Kathleen LeGrys – Kathleen’s Health Coach Solutions blog is one of my favorites (you may have noticed I share a lot of her articles on Twitter). Kathleen specializes in done-for-you coaching programs and shares great tips on everything from preparing your programs to creating a community with social media.
Nutrition Focused Blogs
These are two bloggers that I love who write about the science of nutrition.
Andrea Nakayama – Andrea Nakayama of Replenish PDX and Holistic Nutrition Lab is an internationally acclaimed functional nutritionist. Her blog shares tips for using food to heal your body – and take your health to the next level.
Andrea Beaman – Andrea Beaman is one of the most influential people in health & wellness. She has been featured on shows like Top Chef, The View, and Martha Stewart Live. Andrea’s blog teaches how to feed your body at all levels – physically, spiritually and emotionally – to feel your best.
Online Marketing Blogs
Amy Porterfield – When it comes to online business, Amy knows her stuff. Her podcast and blog can be a little in depth at times, so try to start with some of her more introductory level articles. Amy writes about marketing content, Facebook ads, and general online business ideas. She also gets some very impressive business people on her podcast, so be prepared to be inspired.
Claire Pelletreau – Claire is another great marketing mind with a blog and podcast worth listening to! Claire focuses on strategies and tactics that will help you drive more traffic to your online presence and get you more sales.
Nikki Elledge Brown – Nikki is probably one of the sweetest bloggers on the whole internet right now. I just love watching her videos. Nikki is a copywriting whiz and her blog will help you create content and copy that speaks to your audience better than ever.
Natalie Macneil – Natalie is an Emmy-winning entrepreneur and author with a must-watch YouTube channel. Her short videos are very down to earth and address the common questions and struggles we all have as coaches and small business owners.
Kendrick Shope – The word sales makes most wellness coaches feel pretty icky, but it doesn’t have to. Kendrick teaches sales techniques that actually work, without that icky feeling. As a business owner, this is just something you have to learn and Kendrick makes it fun.
